Steve Running

To say that Steve Running is a leading expert in global ecosystem monitoring is to put it lightly. Running is responsible for developing the earth observing-oriented algorithms used by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer, or MODIS, which is used on NASA satellites Terra and Aqua. Running was also a board member for the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He is currently a professor at the University of Montana and director of the Numerical Terradynamics Simulation Group.
