Skye Wallin

Journalist, activist and documentary filmmaker Skye Wallin has spent several years working closely with scientists while filming more than 20 water-related disasters across the United States — including the tar sands oil spill in Mayflower, Arkansas; the coal ash spill in North Carolina’s Dan River and the Flint, Michigan water crisis. On this project, Wallin worked closely with actor Mark Ruffalo, leading video and short documentary production for Ruffalo’s organization Water Defense, while helping expose multiple water pollution scandals. Wallin’s most recent film, American Gadfly (Mountainfilm 2021) follows the fever dream of three teenagers who set out to get former Alaskan Senator Mike Gravel on the Democratic debate stage.
