Pattie Gonia

Pattie Gonia is a critically acclaimed drag queen, environmentalist and community organizer. Their work exists to get diverse people outdoors and to create a world where more people are excited to take action for people and our planet. Pattie has been named Outside’s Person of the Year, National Geographic Traveler of the year, and most recently, Time Magazine has named them a Next Gen Leader 2023. Over the past 5 years Pattie and her community of more than 1 million people strong have raised more than $2 million dollars for diverse-led organizations advocating for issues from climate change, to diversifying the outdoors to protecting LGBTQ lives. Three years ago, they co-founded the Outdoorist Oath a nonprofit that creates community and opportunities for allies, BIPOC, Queer and underrepresented groups to get outdoors.
