Nicole Gormley

Nicole Gormley is a documentary filmmaker, photographer and ocean advocate with the central aim to tell stories that inspire people to rethink our relationship to the natural world. Approaching projects from the lens of a shared human experience, she uses storytelling as a tool to increase empathy and make an impact. Gormley has produced projects for several of the world’s leading media outlets including, Netflix’s Emmy-nominated series “Ugly Delicious” and dozens of international expeditions for brands and networks. Gormley’s directing collaborations with Patagonia Films includes the award-winning short films, Lessons From Jeju, Monster in Our Closet and Daughter of the Sea (Mountainfilm 2023). She recently won Tribeca's Albert Maysles Award for Best New Documentary Director for her first feature length documentary Searching for Amani.
