Mike Libecki

Climber, skier, father and explorer Mike Libecki has made it his life’s work to explore the most remote, untouched and wild corners of the earth. He has completed major expeditions on all seven continents, and put up first ascents in unexplored faces of rock in places like Afghanistan, Antarctica, Venezuela and Africa — many of them solo. The 2013 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, who is known to don animal masks on summits, is the subject of several climbing films. He is also a dedicated father known for Libecki-isms like “Don’t ration your passion” and “Live sweet … the time is now.”
