Maxwell Frank

With a background in both filmmaking and adventure sports, Maxwell Frank brings a unique perspective to the director's chair. From Tahoe, Nevada, Frank found mountain biking at an early age and this was his catalyst to start taking photos. Later on in life when he was attending Brooks Institute, he was required to take video classes, and naturally, his final project was a mountain bike film. This film changed Frank’s trajectory from taking photos to becoming a filmmaker. As his career progressed, he began working in the adventure sports world, traveling to five different continents and creating content for some of the industry’s largest brands. He recently opened another business called Summit Studios, a full-service photo and video studio in Santa Barbara, which also doubles as his basecamp. Frank is looking forward to creating more short documentaries like Leaving a Tread (Mountainfilm 2024).
