Matty Hong

Boulder, Colorado native Matty Hong has been exposed to climbing his whole life; his parents took him on trips to places like Rifle when he was still in diapers. He has spent most of his years pursuing his passion for scaling rock in both the competitive and outdoor realms. His interest in filmmaking arose from a desire to share the adventures he experienced while climbing. After graduating from the University of Boulder, where he studied film, he is now more passionate than ever to keep learning the intricacies of storytelling while continuing to improve his own climbing abilities. He co-directed Break On Through (Mountainfilm 2018).
