Lhakpa Sherpa

Lhakpa Sherpa is a Nepalese Sherpa mountain climber. In 2000, she became the first Nepali woman to climb and descend Everest successfully. In her day-to-day, her life straddles two wildly disparate worlds, dishwasher at a Whole Foods in Connecticut and record-breaking Sherpa and mountain climber. She speaks five languages which she uses to lead expeditions with travelers from around the world. She is the founder of Cloudscape Climbing and continues to lead incredible expeditions to our planet's most epic summits.
