Lance Edmands

Hailing from the coast of Maine, Lance Edmands is now a Brooklyn-based filmmaker. After attending New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where his thesis short, Vacationland, screened at film festivals around the world, he worked as an editor on documentary and narrative features, including Lena Dunham’s Tiny Furniture (2010). His feature directorial debut, Bluebird (2013), was accepted into the Sundance Institute’s annual Screenwriters and Directors Labs. The film went on to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival where it earned a NYT Critics’ Pick. His other films include two Vimeo Staff Picks, Strays (2017) and Whiteout (2019), and The Seeker (Mountainfilm 2021), a lyrical short about an excommunicated Amish worker.
