Kimberly Reed
Kimberly Reed's trailblazing film Prodigal Sons won 14 international awards and was the first documentary by a transgender filmmaker to be theatrically released in the U.S. Her next feature, Dark Money, (Mountainfilm 2018) was prompted by her home state of Montana’s prohibition of corporate campaign contributions and the 2010 Supreme Court decision in favor of Citizens United. It was an award-winning selection at Sundance, was named one of Vogue's 66 Best Documentaries of All Time, nominated for four Critics’ Choice Awards and the IDA Award for Best Documentary, shortlisted for an Oscar and won the duPont Columbia Prize. Reed was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film” and Out Magazine’s “Out 100.” Her work has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, NPR and the Moth Radio Hour. She is the director of Seat 31: Zooey Zephyr (Mountainfilm 2024).
