Justin Michael Jeffers
Seattle-based, multi-media visual artist Justin Michael Jeffers strives to create thoughtful content that reflects the mixed culture and community he grew up in. Jeffers graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in digital arts and draws inspiration from '90s street art, hip-hop and his experience as a mixed Black man. He has led workshops on visual storytelling at the Northwest African American Museum and his short film Visualizing Lies (2019) won the Art With Impact short film competition. His latest film work, Slim Pickins (Mountainfilm 2021), tells the story of Jahmicah Dawes, owner of the first Black-owned outdoor gear shop in the country.
