Julian Rubinstein

Julian Rubinstein is an award-winning journalist and author of The Holly: Five Bullets, One Gun and the Struggle to Save an American Neighborhood, which was named a New York Times “Editors Choice” and a Best Books of 2021 pick of Booklist, which called it “a shattering piece of investigative journalism.” His work has appeared in the New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Rolling Stone and others. He is the Visiting Professor of the Practice in Documentary Journalism at the University of Denver. He grew up in Denver and moved back for this project. This is his first film. Rubinstein is the director of the feature film The Holly (Mountainfilm 2022).
