Jordyn Romero

Jordyn is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, storyteller and creative. Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, she spent most of her childhood outdoors chasing fresh powder in the lower Rockies and floating down the Rio Grande in the summer. She received her BFA in Documentary Filmmaking at Chapman University, where she discovered a whole new world of stories that could be told from an underwater lens. Romero has worked for brands including Specialized Bikes, Guayaki and Sierra Nevada, created festival-winning films and featured work in the LA Times, Outside TV, and Teton Gravity Research. ?Through her creative endeavors, she aims to reclaim the female narrative on-screen and amplify the voices of women in the outdoor industry. Romero is the director of the film We are Like Waves (Mountainfilm 2022).

Jordyn Romero is an award-winning filmmaker committed to creating visually stunning and emotionally impactful films. Hailing from the rugged Rocky Mountains of Santa Fe, NM, she grew up spending most of her days in the mountains. Frustrated that her favorite ski films were lacking females, she decided to make her own and moved to Southern California to chase the filmmaking dream. Romero is the director of the film We are Like Waves (Mountainfilm 2022), which is being distributed by The Los Angeles Times, earning her recognition as an Oscar Qualifying director, and winning awards at several festivals. She has directed, produced, and filmed for companies including The North Face, Specialized Bicycles, Billabong, Sierra Nevada, and Guayaki. Alongside Jo Anna Edmison, Jordyn is the co-director of Queens of the Break (Mountainfilm 2023).
