Jennifer Redfearn
Jennifer Redfearn discovered her passion for global storytelling after spending four years working in various countries from her job as a boat deckhand in the South Pacific to working on sheep stations in the Australian Outback. Today, she is an acclaimed director whos known for examining how political and cultural forces impact individuals. She has taught filmmaking at Columbia University, Boston University and NYU, and is committed to telling intensely human stories about inequality and social justice. Redfearns film about some of the worlds first climate refugees, Sun Come Up (Mountainfilm 2011), was nominated for an Academy Award. In Apart (Mountainfilm 2020) she tells the heartbreaking story of three mothers who try to rebuild their lives after prison.
