James Der Derian

James Der Derian is a research professor of international studies at the Watson Institute, where he directs the Global Media Project. Der Derian completed a M.Phil. and D.Phil. in international relations as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, and he has been a visiting scholar at MIT, Harvard, Oxford, and the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton. Besides Human Terrain, he has produced two other documentaries, VY2K and After 9/11, and is the author of several books, including Virtuous War: Mapping the Military-Industrial-Media-Entertainment Network.
