Henry Miles
Owner of the production company Backroad Creative, Henry Miles specializes in stunning recreational short films that leave hearts beating fast and jaws agape. Mountain biking, free-skiing and fly-fishing are the lures to his creative energy. Baited by the adrenaline of extreme sports, Miles was then hooked by their iconic backdrops. Short films like Among Giants (2016), filmed in the coastal rainforests of the Pacific Northwest, and Blind Transmission (2017), which was filmed during the historic storm cycle that shut down Jackson Hole, feature staggering scenery. In A Reason to Fish (Mountainfilm 2020), which Miles co-directed with Simon Perkins, he tells the story of a Miami fisherman, while his recent short Blackberry Swirl (Mountainfilm 2021) follows mountain bikers riding track in Vermont as nature performs its seasonal shift to fall.
