Gabriella Canal

Gabriella Canal is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn. Holding a Master’s in Documentary Filmmaking from Columbia, she tells stories rooted in identity and belonging with a focus on women’s voices — an ode to her upbringing in a Colombian-American household. As a producer, Canal has worked with The Atlantic, John Leguizamo’s NGL Studios, Insignia Films and more. Her independent work as a director and DP has been featured by The Video Consortium, NYWIFT and NALIP. Canal is the co-director of Seasons (Mountainfilm 2022), a film that documents the challenges of sustaining a small, family-run farm through the eyes of 60-year-old farm owner Nevia No and her 27-year-old daughter, Euni Park.
