Frank Pickell

Based in Boulder, Colorado, Frank Pickell is an award-winning director and cinematographer and the co-founder of Futuristic Films. An affinity for the great outdoors, mixed with an eye for photography, led him to adventure documentary filmmaking early in life. Pickell has been the driving creative force and principal cinematographer behind outdoor documentary productions in locations as far-flung as Nepal, Tibet, India, Morocco and Peru. His film credits include Lego: The Documentary (2014), Being Evel (2014), Last Horizon: The First Ascent of Sepu Kangri (2002) and Mountain Town (2006). He is the director of The Space Within (Mountainfilm 2018), Ski Photographer (Mountainfilm 2019), The Lonely Star (Mountainfilm 2020) and From My Window (Mountainfilm 2021).
