Frank Marshall

Frank Marshall is one of the most successful producers and directors in Hollywood. After learning the trade over several years with Peter Bogdonavich, Marshall — along with his wife Kathleen Kennedy — partnered with Steven Spielberg for a decade, a combination that yielded five Oscar nominations for Frank as producer of Raiders of the Lost Arc, The Color Purple, The Sixth Sense, Seabiscuit and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Marshall and Kennedy formed their own production company in 1991, and Marshall’s director credits with the company include Alive, Congo and Eight Below. After serving the U.S. Olympic Committee in various capacities for many years, he was inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame in 2008. His Mountainfilm 2012 official selection film, Right to Play (Mountainfilm 2012), is a documentary about Norwegian Olympic speed skater Johann Koss, whose aid organization has reached some 700,000 children in 23 countries. A different kind of play in The Man vs. The Machine (Mountainfilm 2015) tells the story of legendary chess player Garry Kasparov and his battle against the IBM computer.
