Elena Gaby

Elena Gaby identifies as a first-generation Brazillian-American, a native Nantucket Islander and proud New Yorker — which all come together to inform her craft. After graduating from Vassar College, her short film Paper State: Undocumented, Unafraid and Undeterred (2013), won multiple awards, including Best Student Documentary at Cannes Film Festival. Gaby got her start in television where she worked as an associate producer doing research, casting and fieldwork for networks like CNN, Showtime and A&E. Currently, she directs and produces film and television projects. Along with Taryn Southern, Gaby directed I Am Human (Mountainfilm 2020).
