E.J. Scott

In 2003, E.J. Scott was diagnosed with choroideremia, a rare inherited disorder that causes a progressive loss of vision. After years of denial, Scott, who is now legally blind, decided to do something. What started with organizing a few benefits and running marathons to raise money has blossomed into a full-time passion. Scott, who never before considered himself an athlete, ran 12 marathons in 2012, raising more than $150,000 for his charity, the Choroideremia Research Foundation. His is the subject of the documentary Running Blind.
