Dr. Susan Natali
Dr. Sue Natali leads Woodwell Climate Research Centers Arctic Program. Her research on permafrost thaw is motivated by an acute awareness of the risks it poses to northern communities, and through the release of greenhouse gasses, to the global climate. Sue is committed to seeing both the human and climate impacts of rapid Arctic change incorporated into public understanding and global policy. She has briefed federal lawmakers, presented at United Nations climate change conferences and frequently engages with the public and media. She was featured in the film Permafrost Now (Mountainfilm 2018) and contributed to the multiple award-winning book The Big Thaw.
