Daiva Chesonis

Telluride called to Daiva Chesonis in the early 1990s and she has been a town fixture ever since. Her first official stint in town was helping build the gondola, but since then she’s worked as a snowboard instructor, bookseller and as the art director at Telluride Magazine and Telluride Production Group. She’s also served as a board member for Telluride Theatre, Horizon Program and Mountainfilm. In 2010, Chesonis became the co-owner of the Telluride bookstore Between the Covers, where she has been able to bring to life her belief in the power of the written word. Chesonis is the daughter of Lithuanian immigrants and holds a master’s in diplomacy and international conflict resolution.
