Cristóbal Ruiz

Cristóbal Ruiz was born and raised in Chile but now calls Canada home. As an emerging documentary filmmaker and photographer, Ruiz has documented stories of hope in places like South America, Europe and East Africa. He also founded his own production company, Pachamama, and recently released the short film, Añay Kachi: Salt Workers of the Peruvian Andes (Mountainfilm 2021), which he co-directed with Thomas Silcock and Toto Thots. His recent film Weaving the Path (Mountainfilm 2022) explores the life of Debra Sparrow, together with the cultural and spiritual meaning that weaving has had in her life and the Coast Salish communities.
