Charles Lindsay
Multi-disciplinary artist Charles Lindsay uses his craft and ingenuity to blend technology, time, ecosystems and semiotics. He creates immersive environments and sound installations, as well as sculptures built from salvaged aerospace and biotech equipment. Lindsay became the first artist in residence at SETI Institute — which seeks out intelligent life in the universe — and now directs SETI’s Artists in Residence program. Lindsay balances his time in the studio with extended periods exploring remote natural environments. He is a member of the Electronic Music Foundation and uses audio recordings he gathers in the wild to create sounds for his installations, videos and live audio-visual performances.
