Anna Wilder Burns

Anna Wilder Burns is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer focused on impactful stories of athletes, adventurers and activists. With a background in journalism and being a former Division I athlete, Anna combines her passion to tell stories spanning the conservation, adventure and sports spaces that inspire change. A multi-faceted and self-taught creative, most of Anna’s work is as a cinematographer and director. She’s done work for brands including Nike, Redbull and The North Face, created festival-winning films, and had work featured in The New York Times, Outside magazine, and The Players Tribune. Anna was born and raised outside of Portland, Maine, and currently resides in Southern California. Between shoots, Anna spends her free time surfing, skiing and exploring Earth’s wild places with a camera in hand. She is the director of To Be Frank (Mountainfilm 2023).
