Aaron Peterson

Director Aaron Peterson reveals the new, fast-growing winter sport of snow biking in Cold Rolled (Mountainfilm 2014), which showcases the winter cycling culture and snow bike routes of Marquette, Michigan. Peterson also directed Fallen Feather (Mountainfilm 2016), a short film telling the story of ice climbing in Michigan. That same year, Peterson launched the Fresh Coast Film Festival. His most recent work, 24 Leeches (Mountainfilm 2021), shares an intimate canoe trip Peterson took with his family prior to his son’s death. The film is not only a tribute to his son, but a reminder of the effect of climate change on Lake Superior.
