Festival Camp
If your student is curious about film, storytelling and the world around them, Mountainfilm’s Festival Camp offers a unique way to experience the festival.
Through a partnership with Telluride Academy, students spend four days immersed in Mountainfilm, May 22-25, 2026. The program is designed for high school students ages 14–18, with a capacity of 20 students each year. They watch a curated selection of documentaries, participate in thoughtful group discussions and meet filmmakers and guest speakers whose work explores important global issues.
Students also take part in selecting Mountainfilm’s Student Choice Award. Throughout the weekend, students watch several films and work together to discuss what makes a story meaningful and impactful. At the end of the program, students vote for the film they believe will most inspire their generation. The winning film receives a $2,000 cash prize presented at the Closing Picnic & Awards Ceremony.
Festival Camp gives students the opportunity to think critically about media, share their perspectives and connect with peers who are equally curious about the world.
