The Art of Rebellion

Fighting against an unforgiving healthcare system while she battles the symptoms of progressive multiple sclerosis, muralist Lydia Emily ties paintbrushes to her failing hands to create large-scale works of creative resistance. Over time, the portrait of Emily that emerges is one of a tough, tender, indomitable force of nature, plagued by hospital bills, buoyed by medication and never silenced. Even as her disease progresses, she persists, declaring, “I dare you to make this my last year. I love my life — try and take it from me.”
