Colin Arisman

Colin Arisman is a homesteader, harvester and documentary director, who lives in Alaska with his wife and creative partner Elsa. His visual storytelling documents human connections to the natural world, with a focus on outdoor recreation, ecology and conservation. Arisman’s films have received accolades including “Best Short Film” at Banff Mountain Film Festival and numerous Vimeo Staff Picks. He is the founder of Wild Confluence Media, a documentary production company that amplifies grassroots activism through impact storytelling. His award-winning films include Chasing Wild and Brotherhood of Skiing (Mountainfilm 2019), which have screened at festivals in the U.S. and beyond. Most recently, is also co-directed School of Fish (Mountainfilm 2023).
