Alpenglow Sports is excited to announce the return of Mountainfilm on Tour to Palisades Tahoe. Mountainfilm on Tour brings a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado. The films showcased on tour explore the themes connected to Mountainfilm’s mission of using the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. The tour stops at Palisades Tahoe with a curated selection of films, chosen specifically for the North Lake Tahoe audience and is presented by Flylow and Mountain Hardwear.
Held at the Olympic Village Events Center at Palisades Tahoe, Mountainfilm on Tour is an exciting, engaging and inspirational night of films. Alpenglow Sports has been organizing Mountainfilm on Tour for 7+ years, but had to put the show on hold for the past two years due to Covid. The Tahoe City retailer and event organizer is eager to bring the event back this February as it aligns perfectly with the shop’s belief in the power of adventure storytelling and gathering as a community in order to learn and be inspired. The Courage Project, a local group working to raise awareness and destigmatize mental health concerns, one adventure at a time, has been chosen as the non-profit beneficiary of the evening.
“Mountainfilm on Tour has been a special offering in our lineup of community events each winter,” according to Alpenglow owner Brendan Madigan. “I was lucky enough to attend the 44th edition of the event in Telluride this past May and was overwhelmed by Mountainfilm’s mission to use the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. The event mirrors the mission of our Winter Speaker Series and I’m thrilled to bring such a special night of inspiring films back to North Lake Tahoe, where it belongs.”
In addition to the event itself, representatives from popular adventure, ski, and climbing brands will be in attendance and a great giveaway will benefit the Courage Project. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy an evening of fun, games, and films prior to the show. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. All ages are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
