Ross Kauffman

Ross Kauffman is the director, producer and cinematographer of Born into Brothels, the 2005 Academy Award-winning documentary about the children of prostitutes in Calcutta’s red light district. He has filmed in developing countries around the world and worked with Half the Sky, an organization that aims to put an end to the oppression of women and girls worldwide. Other film projects include the award-winning feature documentary In a Dream and Academy Award-nominated Postergirl. With Katy Chevigny, Kauffman directed and produced E-Team, which follows a team of Human Rights Watch investigators as they piece together events in war-town places around the world. He is the director of the feature film Tigerland (Mountainfilm 2019).
