Ben Ayers

Ben Ayers has lived and worked in Nepal since the late 1990s. In 1999, he founded Porters' Progress, an organization dedicated to improving working conditions for mountaineering workers, and in 2006 Ayers joined dZi Foundation, Mountainfilm's 2015 nonprofit partner. With dZi Ayers has executed an innovative model for empowerment and poverty alleviation in some of the most remote villages in Nepal. Ayers is a product ambassador for Marmot, a dedicated climber and a mountain biker. He was a producer on the film The Last Honey Hunter (Mountainfilm 2017) and director of Mothered by Mountains (Mountainfilm 2018).
